Alistair Munro

Hailing from the east coast of Scotland, Alistair forged a career cooking all over the UK and Ireland, before moving to Brighton in January 2020 (not ideal timing). He founded the ‘Alberta’s’ brand as a fun project to see out lockdown. This project was met with local acclaim and a cult following, popping up in various venues across Brighton & Hove. As the summer season ended, he met the team from Wild Flor & after a few months getting back to grips with proper restaurant cookery he was asked to take over as head chef in December 2021. Together they developed the restaurant’s reputation for proper, classic dishes; maintaining the restaurant’s standing in the Michelin Guide, Good Food Guide, Wine List Confidentials Top 100 & Top 5 status in the Brighton’s Best Awards. Reviving Alberta’s was always on the agenda & in October ’22 a collaboration of Alberta’s X WF during the local OctoberBest Festival served perfect fried chicken & sparkling wine to over 300 guests once more. Alberta’s looks forward to a more full-blooded comeback in 2023.
