Joe has an international reputation as a world class wine taster and has been a Panel Chair and Senior Judge at The International Wine Challenge for 30 years, the world’s largest blind wine tasting. He is International Senior Judge at Veritas, South Africa’s oldest wine competition and is a regular international judge at wine competitions throughout the world, including Belgium, France, Italy, Germany, and Australia.
In 2005, Joe was awarded with the coveted international title of IWSC Communicator of the Year and then won the award for a second time in 2016, making Joe Wadsack the only person to have won this illustrious award twice. He was also awarded with the International Wine Challenge’s Personality of the Year award in 2015.
In May 2020, during the Covid pandemic, Joe created a YouTube channel called The Drinks Coach UK, which rapidly gained a loyal following across the wine trade. He has produced over 200 shows to date on all aspects of the drinks trade.
Joe and his wife Emma can be found hosting wine and spirit masterclasses at the many Food Festivals across the country during summer the months and spends the rest of his time as a brand consultant and copywriter. He is wine columnist for Class Magazine, premier publication for bartenders around the world, and still contributes to national titles from time to time.
