Mrs Kitchen began baking at the age of two. Sat in a highchair in the small hours of the morning when she refused to go to sleep!
Baking has been a lifelong passion. Homemade muffins and cookies, birthday cakes & cupcakes were created & consumed with enthusiasm!
Catering & the school meals service provided new opportunities but as the family grew Mrs Kitchen’s other interests took her to college & then to a career in International Development.
When her post was made redundant the days were often spent baking. Family and friends enjoyed and eventually even paid for her cupcakes. A business was born!
The demise of Blockbuster video and its abandoned premises in Croxley Green provided the perfect opportunity to relocate what had now taken over the family home. The Kitchen Croxley was born!
Ten years later The Kitchen is a pretty tearoom serving an all day menu & specialising in Afternoon Tea. Cakes and scones are baked on the premises & enjoyed by customers from near & far.
Celebration cakes remain an important part of the business with many high profile customers. Whatever else has changed the cakes are as delicious as ever!
