The name Ka Pao derives from the Thai word for Holy Basil and the restaurants offer a menu influenced by the cooking of South East Asia.
Ka Pao first launched as a pop-up residency in Glasgow’s SWG3 in September 2018 with Sandy running the kitchen. He opened Ka Pao Glasgow as Head Chef in 2020 and the restaurant was awarded a Bib Gourmand in the following year’s Michelin Guide. Ka Pao Edinburgh opened in 2022 and Sandy now oversees the kitchens in both restaurants.
