Sarah Woods was a finalist on BBC1’s Best Home Cook 2020. Since the show aired, Sarah left her corporate job behind to pursue her real passion – food and feeding. She honed her cooking skills at Ashburton Chef’s Academy in Devon, prior to taking the leap. In her home town of Cheshire, she hosts regular supper clubs, restaurant pop ups, and the occasional neighbourhood food collection; which she originally started during lockdown.

Her food draws on both her Indian heritage and British upbringing, she was born and raised in the West Midlands. This is the essence of ‘desi’ cuisine and culture; ‘desi’ is a person of birth or descent from the Indian sub-continent, who lives abroad. Her recipes explore that delicious alchemy of blending very different cultures while using the best of seasonal produce.

Sarah’s debut cookbook Desi Kitchen will be published in March 2023. She has a passion for making authentic Indian home cooking accessible to all.
