Having originally studied textile design, Simon taught himself to cook and opened Greens – his first restaurant in Didsbury, Manchester – in 1990. Since then, Simon has built up a network of eateries across the North West of England, as well as The Scene in Dubai.
Maintaining a very much ‘hands-on’ approach, Simon continues to cook in his restaurants every week, despite his busy schedule.
Alongside this, Simon has written and published a number of successful cookbooks and is a regular contributor to a several food magazines including Delicious, Olive, Vegetarian Living and BBC Good Food Magazine.
Regularly drawing the crowds at food events and demonstrations nationwide, Simon’s continued popularity means he is much sought after by a many high-profile brands, including Hoover.
As the face of Hoover’s ‘Cook the way you live’ campaign, he gives audiences tasty ideas and inspiration and showing Hoover’s latest range of innovative cooking appliances.
Other than food, one of Simon’s biggest passion is the beautiful game. A massive Liverpool FC supporter, he has also worked with Manchester City’s Football Academy,teaching young up and coming players about eating, nutrition and cooking at specially designed cookery courses.
